Video Shows Aftermath of Fatal Fiery Wreck in Miami

Video obtained Tuesday shows the aftermath of the fiery crash in Miami that killed a cyclist and a man behind the wheel of a stolen car.

Miami Police say the driver smashed into a cyclist at the intersection of Northwest 54th Street and 12th Avenue Monday night and dragged the cyclist for another block or so. Then the driver lost control at 53rd Street, hitting a tree and catching fire.

Witnesses say they tried everything they could do get the suspect out of the burning Infinity. But there was nothing they could do.

“We tried to bend and bust the window. We tried to pull the door with a crowbar me and a couple of other guys," one witness said.

The video, shot by a passerby, shows witnesses near the fiery wreck, unable to help.

According to the police the car on fire was stolen. It belongs to a man who lives in Golden Beach.

Police later identified the cyclist as 44-year-old Javier Munoz. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Lionel Guy Dorilas.

Detectives have determined there was possibly some law enforcement involvement before the crash, officials said.

Family members said Munoz was on the phone with his girlfriend when the stolen car hit him.

"She said that she heard him scream and she lost contact after that, she didn't know anything else," said Munoz's sister, who didn't want her name published.

The sister and Munoz's brother said they found out about the wreck after seeing his bicycle on TV.

"I realize the bike because he has a little wheel on the bike and I realized, yeah that's his bike," Munoz's brother said.

Munoz's brother and sister also said officers were invokved in a chase when the crash happened.

The crash remains under investigation.
