Police are searching for a thief who was caught on camera snatching a woman's purse at a Davie shopping center.
The robbery by sudden snatching happened July 19 outside the Giordana Gourmet Salads in the Tower Shops of Davie on S. University Drive, police said Wednesday.
Surveillance footage showed the suspect pacing around for more than a half hour, pretending to talk on the phone while he waited to make his move. The footage showed him grab the purse from the woman's lap and run off as she tried to catch him.
Police are looking for the suspect and are asking anyone with information to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
