‘I Need My Family': Vigil Held for Mother and Daughter Who Have Been Missing for Two Years

A vigil was held Wednesday night for a mother and daughter who went missing two years ago.

“Who is the guilty person? We need answers. We need to know what happened to my sister and niece,” said Eduardo Moreno, the victim’s brother.

The family told NBC 6 that they are not giving up and that they have a lot of hope that they are both alive. But they, along with police, are looking for a break in the case to help find them.

“At this moment, I feel angry, because I want to find them. I need my family. At this moment, my family is broken,” said Moreno.

A small vigil was held for Liliana Moreno and her 8-year-old daughter Daniela Wednesday night. The Doral mother and daughter went missing without a trace in 2016.

An open investigation has left police with few leads, but Liliana’s brother knows someone has answers.

“The only person who knows what happened to them is there,” said Moreno.

The person he is referring to is Gustavo Castano, Daniela’s father. Police say Castano was the last person to be seen with the two.

Police are calling him a person of interest, but he’s never been charged.

The vigil was held in front of his Miami home Wednesday night.

A prayer was led by the father of Christian Aguilar, who was murdered in 2012. A father who knows the pain of a missing family member. But for Liliana’s brother, there is also hope that his sister will be found alive.

“I want to see them again. I hope and think and feel that is true,” said Moreno.

Miami-Dade Police say they still suspect foul play was involved in the disappearance.
