Volusia Man Arrested After Allegedly Pouring Boiling Water on Child: Police

According to police, it's the second time 47-year-old Terry May has been arrested for burning a child

Volusia Sheriff's Office says they have charged a man who is being accused of burning a 3-year-old boy after pouring boiling water on the child.

According to police, it's the second time 47-year-old Terry May has been arrested for burning a child. In 2018, May was arrested for pouring boiling water on a 3-year-old girl. He was never prosecuted after a 'no information' was filed.

The boy's daycare instructors noticed the burn marks on the child's back, police say.

In a press release, Volusia Sheriff's Office say an investigation revealed May poured the boiling water onto the 3-year-old after the child accidentally urinated on the floor.

May's bond is set at $250,000.
