Crews were on the scene of a water main break at A1A and Sheridan Street in Hollywood Thursday afternoon.
The city's public utility teams were working to repair the 12-inch break. Crews needed to first isolate the damaged line, then begin to make repairs.
Traffic was being diverted in the area, as northbound lanes of A1A were shut down. Traffic was being detoured west on Sheridan Street. Eastbound traffic on Sheridan Street was detoured to Hollywood Boulevard or Dania Beach Boulevard.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area near A1A and Sheridan Street.
Nearby residents may notice reduced water pressure while repairs are taking place. Public information officers for Hollywood say a boil water alert has not been ordered or deemed necessary at this time.
