Crews repaired an 8-inch drinking water line that had broken Tuesday morning flooding several streets and blocking traffic.
The water main break happened at the intersection of Riverland Road and Southwest 14th Street, Fort Lauderdale Public Works Department spokeswoman Monique Damiano said.
Riverland Road will be closed in both directions between SW 13 Court and 14 Street. Drivers hould detour around the area using SW 15th Street or SW 13th Court.
"Can’t get to work, can’t go to school, it sucks all around,” Anderson Pierre had said. "I got a walk-in driveway, and I can’t go anywhere right now. Both sides are deep, and I don’t want anything to happen to my vehicle, so I’m just holding off."
