Weather Forecast: Strong Winds Thursday in South Florida

Partly sunny with highs around 78 Thursday in South Florida.

In the wake of Wednesday’s cold front, Thursday’s weather is driven by a strong wind still running across South Florida.

With the wind will come a little more sunshine Thursday afternoon, with highs reaching 78.

Boaters are urged to use caution on the water as a rip current risk continues and small craft advisories are still in effect.

At South Florida's beaches Thursday morning, locals and visitors said they weren't expecting the windy conditions.

"I think it's terrible, I hate it" New Yorker Bob Prisco said. "I cannot believe this is happening to me, but it's snowing in New York, so it's not so bad."

Freddy Rodriguez, from Hollywood, bundled up.

"It's just so cold right now, I'm not used to this," Rodriguez said.

Not everyone was upset with the cooler temps.

"I like it, I like it, it's a nice change of pace, it beats the hot sun all the time so it's refreshing," said Phil Lytle, who lives on Hollywood Beach.

Friday is expected to stay breezy and will be a bit warmer, with partly sunny conditions and highs around 82.

After the brief cool-down, temperatures will warm into the lower and mid-80s for the weekend as rain chances return.
