Whiteside Leads Heat to Second Straight Win

Hassan Whiteside tallied 18 points and 18 rebounds in Miami's 114-111 win on Saturday

Hassan Whiteside had another big night to help the Miami Heat beat the Washington Wizards 114-111 on Saturday.

Whiteside continued his stretch of double-doubles with 18 points and 18 rebounds in the win. Miami's center has picked up double-doubles in every game, but one this season. Whiteside also added three blocks to continue what has been a stellar and All-Star caliber campaign.

The win was Miami's second in a row and improved the team's record to 4-8 on the season. The Heat are also 2-3 now when playing on the road this year. Miami's back-to-back wins have come after a six-game skid which had sent the team stumbling down the standings.

Whiteside had help from his teammates in a great team win. Goran Dragic had 22 points of his own which led the team. Dragic also chipped in three rebounds and six assists along with a steal. The guard appears to be back in full health after missing some time.

With Justise Winslow still unavailable, Miami continued to go with a three guard lineup to begin the game. Josh Richardson had 15 points and seven boards, while Dion Waiters stayed productive with 16 points and eight assists.

All five of Miami's started reached double digits in points as Derrick Williams added 12 points himself. Williams also had five boards for Miami.

The road trip will continue on Monday when the Heat travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers.
