Wilton Manors Business Burglarized by Block-Tossing Thief: Cops

Police are searching for a burglary suspect who was caught on camera tossing a concrete block at the window of a Wilton Manors business to get inside.

The burglary suspect was caught on camera in the early morning hours of Thursday between 2:15 and 3:30 a.m. when he tried to get into three businesses: To The Moon located at 2205 Wilton Drive, RockHard Lovestuff located at 2205A Wilton Drive and New York Grilled Cheese Co. located at 2207 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors Police said.

According to police, the suspect tried to get into To The Moon but was unsuccessful, so he went to RockHard, where he was seen on surveillance footage walking back and forth carrying what appears to be a concrete block in his hands.

He then throws the block at the store's window, allowing him to unlock the rear door and get inside. Once in the store, the suspect stole cash from the register and took merchandise, police said.

At one point, the suspect also tried to get into New York Grilled Cheese but was unsuccessful. Police said all three businesses had damage to the rear windows and or doors.

By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
