Winter Weather Causing Flight Delays, Cancellations at South Florida Airports

The blizzard conditions – including massive snow in the northeast part of the United States – is causing flight delays and cancellations at airports across the country, including South Florida.

Miami International Airport has 42 delays and 35 cancellations as of 10:47 a.m., while Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport is reporting 55 delays and 35 cancellations.

A majority of the flights cancelled at both airports are coming from or travelling to areas that have been dealing with the worst of the weather, including New York City, Newark, Boston and Philadelphia.

Officials remind travelers to check with their airline to see if their flight has been affected by the winter storms, which is expected to continue through the weekend.
