2 Teens Identified in West Palm Beach Murder-Suicide: Cops

Police identify teens killed in murder-suicide in West Palm Beach

A woman and two teenagers were found fatally shot in an apparent murder-suicide in West Palm Beach Monday morning, police said.

The discovery was made in a home south of downtown in the 200 block of Pershing Way, just west of the Intracoastal Waterway, WPTV reported. The street was blocked off to traffic.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving a call from the ex-husband of a woman who lives at the home. He was later identified as Richard Berman, according to police.

Police also later identified the victims as 15-year-old Jacqueline Berman and 16-year-old Alexander Berman. Preliminary information showed that all three died of gunshot wounds, police said. The woman was not immediately identified.

There were no suspects as it appears to be a murder-suicide, police said.

"It is hard to fathom this type of thing after living here and knowing the kids and the mother and father. To hear this type of thing is not comprehendible," said family friend Brian McManus.

The woman had sent an email to her ex-husband and other relatives Monday morning saying she was going to "do harm" to herself or others, police said.

It doesn't appear to be a random act of violence. The ex-husband is not considered a suspect, police said.

The Palm Beach County School District confirmed that two of its students were affected by tragedy and they have sent grief counselors to the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, WPTV reported.
