Woman, 24, Shot and Killed in Northwest Miami-Dade

Police are investigating after a young woman was shot and killed in front of her home in northwest Miami-Dade late Thursday night.

The shooting happened in the 2400 block of Northwest 84th Street in West Little River shortly after 10 p.m.

Family members said 24-year-old Precious Denise Jackson was returning home after working a manager's shift at Checker's when she was gunned down.

"They don't know for a second what they do to a family, not only a family, but a mother," said the victim's mother Tesha Green.

Miami-Dade Police detectives were at the scene early Friday. Several bullet casings were found in the road outside the home.

Jackson's mother said she doesn't know who would target her daughter. She described her as well-liked and a hard-worker, and said she has no idea who would do this.

"I was not there to help her in that moment of time, that she was getting shot, and it's not right," Green said. "My baby did not deserve this."

Police said no one was in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
