Woman Accused of Vandalizing Several Hollywood Businesses

A woman is facing charges after police say she was caught on camera vandalizing several businesses in downtown Hollywood early Monday.

Vanessa Umana, 29, is charged with four counts of felony criminal mischief, Hollywood Police said. She was booked into jail and it was unknown if she's hired an attorney.

According to police, surveillance video shows Umana smashing the glass doors of three restaurants in the 2000 block of Hollywood Boulevard, including Tardes Calenas, Go Bistro and La Flambe. She also targeted the Law Office of Andrew Lee on Tyler Street, police said.

Umana was later found sleeping in front of a home in the 2700 block of Pierce Street covered in blood, police said. She appeared intoxicated and said she consumed a lot of vodka at a gentleman's club five hours earlier and "did not remember a lot of what she had done," an arrest report said.

Large amounts of blood were found at the scenes and Umana had pieces of glass in her hand, the report said. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before she was booked into jail.

"Supposedly [she] was kicked out of the club and pretty upset about it," Go Bistro manager Veron Pless said. "Just went on a rampage up and down Hollywood Boulevard and even the next block over on Tyler Street."

Richard Testerman said he found the woman covered in blood at the Pierce Street location.

"I noticed she was cut and she had been bleeding all down the right side of her pants and shirt were bloody," Testerman said.
