Woman Arrested Before Giving Undercover Detective Botox Injection: MDPD

A Miami-Dade woman is facing charges after she planned to give an illegal Botox injection to a patient who turned out to be an undercover detective, officials said.

Gabriela Alegria, 43, was arrested Thursday on charges of practicing health care without a license and possessing prescription drugs with intent to sell or deliver, according to a Miami-Dade Police arrest affidavit.

Alegria appeared in bond court Friday where she was ordered held on $50,000 bond. Attorney information wasn't immediately available.

According to the affidavit, the undercover officer met with Alegria so she could give a Botox injection at a home on Southwest 149th Court.

Alegria had syringes and a vial in a cooler, and loaded a syringe with fluid from the vial, the affidavit said. When she was about to begin the procedure, she was taken into custody, the report said.

Detectives quickly discovered Alegria isn't licensed in the State of Florida, the affidavit said.
