Woman Caught on Camera Attempting to Rob Fort Lauderdale Gas Station

Fort Lauderdale Police are searching for a woman captured on video trying to rob a gas station in late July – but leaving emptyhanded.

Officials released the surveillance video showing the scene inside a Chevron station off Commercial Boulevard and NW 31st Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. on July 31st. In the video, a woman with her face covered by a mask, is seen running inside and pointing a gun at an employee.

Seconds later, the woman knocks over several items from the counter before fleeing the store without taking any money and heading in a northbound direction.

Police describe the suspect as a black female between 20 and 25 years of age, around 5’6” with a medium build who was wearing dark clothing at the time.
