Miami Police are investigating after a woman was found dead of a gunshot wound in her Overtown apartment overnight Tuesday.
Police believe the shooting happened during an argument between the victim and her girlfriend. Officials say they have identified one person of interest in connection with the shooting, but have not yet released that person's identity.
The victim was identified as 48-year-old Gretchen Miranda.
Homicide investigators estimate that Miranda was shot and killed sometime before 1:30 a.m, at an apartment located at 415 Northwest Ninth Street, apartment nine.
Police have not released a motive or description of the suspect.
There were no children inside the home at the time of the shooting, and none of the residents in the surrounding apartment units were hurt.
