Woman Found Shot Dead in Northwest Miami-Dade Yard: Police

A woman was found shot to death in the front yard of a northwest Miami-Dade home Tuesday, police said.

Miami-Dade Police were called to the home at 2989 Northwest 43rd Terrace around 2:30 a.m. after hearing reports of shots fired.

"First, it was three boom-boom-boom's," said neighbor Precious Dennis. "Very loud, shook the whole house. And then afterwards, it was another three boom-boom-boom's after that."

Police did not locate anyone with injuries. However, when the occupants of the home woke up Tuesday morning, they found the body of a black female dead from apparent gun shot wounds in the front yard.

The victim was later identified as 49-year-old Caroline Frye.

"I saw it on the news and stuff and then my brother in law called me and told me that woman they talking about on the news, that was our niece," Frye's uncle said.

A suspect has not yet been identified.
