Davie Police say one woman was injured after a possible acid bomb went off in her mailbox Tuesday night.
Police say the incident began when the unidentified woman heard a loud noise coming from outside her home in the 6500 block of Southwest 47th Street between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Around 9 a.m. Wednesday, the woman noticed her mailbox door was hanging, and when she examined further, she found a plastic water bottle had exploded inside and shredded the mail, police said.
When the woman reached into the mailbox, she was exposed to an irritating substance, possibly acid, police said. She was treated at the scene.
The woman told police her daughter has been involved in an ongoing dispute and said the daughter's boyfriend, who she believes is a gang member, is responsible for the damage.
Police are investigating the incident.
