Broward Sheriff's officials are looking for a woman they say entered a Deerfield Beach McDonald’s, ordered and received a happy meal and took an iPad that was left on the counter, officials said.
Surveillance video from back on June 12 showed the woman place her order and leave the register area to use the bathroom. Shortly thereafter, a man approached the counter and set down his iPad and sweater, authorities said.
When he went to use the soda machine, the man left the iPad on the counter. He remained near the machine to wait for his food when the woman is seen on video picking up her happy meal.
As the woman walked toward the exit, she noticed the device and grabbed it even though the man was nearby, BSO officials said. The suspect left with a young girl, officials said.
Anyone who can identify the thief, the young girl or the woman accompanying the young girl is asked to call BSO Detective Chris Caldwell at 954-480-4287.
