Victim Speaks Out After Woman Stole Vehicle With Child Inside

Alexis Facey, 31, is facing DUI, attempted kidnapping, battery, grand theft auto charges

A woman is recounting the moments she and her husband stopped to help a driver in distress who ended up carjacking them, taking off with their child and causing multiple crashes in Miramar.

Rosaline Tur and her family were on their way to Georgia early Wednesday when they saw a car go into a ditch on Interstate 95.

"I told my husband to stop because we need to help, that person probably died," Tur said.

Their attempt at a good deed turned into a nightmare.

"She run to my car and the guys started yelling at me, 'The keys, the keys. Remove the keys,' and I didn't listen to him," Tur said. "I didn't understand what he was saying to me."

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Alexis Facey, hopped into the family's Chevy Silverado and drove off with Tur's 63-year-old mother, an 11-month-old baby and two dogs in the backseat.

Tur's husband reacted quickly, jumped into the car of another man who stopped to help Facey, and started chasing her.

"Every time she would see my husband on the side mirror, she would start accelerating the car again," Tur said.

They got as far as US-441 and Miramar Parkway until they crashed. Facey, with Tur's mother and baby still in the car, barreled into another vehicle near SW 62nd Avenue and Miramar Parkway.

Tur's mother braced for the worst.

"She just jumped on my baby," Tur said. "She hold him really tight and she was just like, 'Ok, this is where we're gonna die, we're gonna die.'"

They both survived. Tur's mother is still in the hospital with internal injuries.

Facey was arrested and faces a number of charges, including attempted kidnapping, aggravated battery, grand theft auto, and leaving the scene of a crash. She bonded out of jail later that night. Attorney information was not available.

"A lot of people are suffering because of her, so it's not fair, it's not fair," Tur said.
