Woman Shot, Killed Outside NW Miami-Dade Restaurant

Police are investigating a fatal shooting after gunfire erupted near a popular Miami Lakes restaurant overnight Sunday.

Paramedics did everything they could to resuscitate the victim after she was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

According to officials, the woman finished having dinner with a male companion at Los Verdes on the 7500 block of Northwest 186th Street.

Family friends and restaurant employees identified the woman as 21-year-old Juliana Quinones Reinoso.

Witnesses tell NBC 6 the woman came out of the restaurant and got into a car. The car immediately drove away from the person who opened fire. The car came to a stop just a few feet away.

“I just heard three shots, I didn’t think anything of it. And probably about 5-10 minutes later, I start seeing police cards arriving and an ambulance and lights all over the place,” said Rashee Miles, a witness.

Restaurant employees said the Reinoso and her companion argued before leaving.

Police officers momentarily detained the car’s driver at the scene, but was later released and detectives said at this moment, they don’t have any suspects under arrest.

“It’s bad man, you know the violence is getting really bad,” said Miles, “Every neighborhood is susceptible to some type of violence.”

Employees at the restaurant told NBC 6 that investigators are now reviewing surveillance videos from the cameras inside and outside the restaurant.
