Woman Stole Thousands From Bank: Coral Gables Police

Coral Gables Police are searching for a young woman who they say cashed a counterfeit check at one bank and tried to cash another.

The first incident happened the afternoon of Aug. 8 at the Suntrust Bank at 100 Miracle Mile when the woman cashed a $8,436.22 check, police said.

A short time later, the woman tried to cash a $5,500 check at the Wells Fargo Bank at 2100 Ponce De Leon Boulevard.

In both incidents, the woman used an Ohio driver's license, with the names Rebecca Brown and Shaneka Parker.

Police describe the suspect as a black female in her 20s with dark hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
