5 Suspects Arrested for Violent Carjacking in North Miami

Police have arrested five suspects after a woman was attacked and carjacked in North Miami in an incident that was caught on camera.

The incident happened just before 10 p.m. Monday at 1230 Northeast 139th Street when the woman was approached by a group of juveniles, police said.

One of them hit the woman over the head with an unknown object as another sprayed her in the face with mace, police said. The woman's backpack, containing her phone and car keys, was grabbed as the suspects got into her car and drove off, police said.

On Wednesday evening, Sunrise Police located the victim's vehicle occupied by five subjects in the area of the Sawgrass Mall. They were all taken into custody.

North Miami Police responded to the Sunrise Police Department and obtained full confessions from the juvenile subjects.

All the subjects were arrested and charged with armed robbery, carjacking, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and conspiracy to commit carjacking.

It's unknown whether they have attorneys.
