Two women are facing murder charges in the killing of a man who was found stabbed to death inside his home in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood last month.
Viviana Hernandez, 25, and Natasia Andrea Gonzalez, 21, are facing charges including second-degree murder and grand theft auto related to the killing of 63-year-old Jorge Aneiros Avila, arrest warrants said.
According to the warrants, the investigation began when officers responded to the building at 1928 Southwest 6th Street after tenants reported a foul odor. The officers discovered the body of Avila, who was wrapped in a sheet and appeared to have been dead for a few days.
Avila had been stabbed in the back, and his vehicle was missing, the warrants said.
Hernandez and Gonzalez were arrested in Hamilton County, on the Florida-Georgia border, on March 12, after they were found in a car that had been reported stolen in Miami-Dade, the warrants said.
Gonzalez admitted to killing Avila and said she returned to his home to steal some items that police believe were later sold to a pawn shop, the reports said. Hernandez also admitted to using a knife to kill Avila, the warrants said.
The warrants said fingerprints belonging to Hernandez and Gonzalez were found in Avila's apartment. When Avila's abandoned car was found, detectives found blood as well as the knife, which was concealed inside, the warrants said. A wallet with Hernandez's identification was also found in the car, the warrants said.

Hernandez and Gonzalez were brought back to Miami-Dade Thursday to face the charges. Both remained held without bond Friday, and attorney information wasn't available.
