Worker Hospitalized in Fort Lauderdale Construction Accident

A construction worker was rushed to the hospital when a beam collapsed and fell on him at a Fort Lauderdale home Wednesday morning, officials said.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded and transported the man to Broward Health Medical Center as a trauma alert, Little said.

Fire Rescue spokesman Robert Bacic said the man fell about 25 feet after the collapse.

Investigators and building code officials responded to the scene to try to determine how the collapse happened, Bacic said.

The man wasn't identified and no other information was immediately known.
