A security worker was killed when a gate accidentally fell on him at a Miami-Dade park Tuesday, officials said.
Miami-Dade Police said the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition Center at Tamiami Park off Coral Way.
The 70-year-old worker was letting a vehicle through when the gate somehow fell on top of him, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police haven't identified the victim but said the incident remains under investigation.
"We are saddened by the death of our longtime employee from an apparent workplace accident. We are cooperating with police, who are conducting a thorough investigation," the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition said in a statement.
