An 18-year-old high school senior remains in the hospital after he was struck by a car in Wynwood, and his family is urging the hit-and-run driver to come forward.
Ishmail Jean Baptiste was riding his bicycle Tuesday evening in the area of 29th Street and North Miami Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle.
The iTech Magnet High School student's family said he was earning extra cash and making deliveries for an online food delivery service when he was struck.
His family said they are struggling to watch the active, straight-A student lie motionless in a hospital bed.
"Please, please come forward," said Tamia Baker, his girlfriend. "You could have taken somebody's life."
Information about a suspect or vehicle description was not immediately available.
