911 Operator Accused of Falsifying Break-In Report

Dallas police say a 911 operator is accused of making a false report about a break-in at her apartment.

According to police reports, Shatawn Allen, 32, said her South Dallas apartment on the 3200 block of Simpson Stuart was broken into on Dec. 17. She said a purse valued at $4,500 was taken — along with a $199 Nintendo Wii.

The Dallas Morning News reports a neighbor told police that she broke the door herself.

The neighbor said he looked through his peephole after hearing a loud bang, and saw Allen standing by her own door.

On Dec. 27 court documents, obtained by NBC 5, show Allen was charged with making a false report.

Allen is currently out of jail on $1,000 bond.

Dallas police said an internal investigation is in the review process and that she is on administrative leave.

NBC 5 visited Allen's home on Simpson Stuart, but were told that she no longer lives at that address.
