A manager at a New York City McDonald's was stabbed to death by a man who authorities said was asked to leave, then returned to attack.
Adam Garcia died Monday morning after he was stabbed at the fast-food restaurant in the Bronx's Kingsbridge neighborhood around 4:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.
Authorities said the suspect, described as homeless, was inside the Broadway restaurant and had been asked to leave by Garcia. The suspect came back shortly after, this time armed, and stabbed Garcia several times in the neck and chest.
Police said Garcia gave statements to police and was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian's Allen Pavilion Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The owner of the McDonald's, Chris Treftz, said he was "saddened and shocked by this morning's horrible incident."
"The safety of my customers and employees remains a top priority and I will assist the New York City Police Department in their investigation in any way possible," Treftz said.
Garcia's family said they are devestated by the loss.

"He was a family person, always did what was right," said one cousin. "He was just doing his job... which is why it hurts so much."
It's not clear if an arrest has been made.
