California Woman Dies on Diving Excursion in St. Croix

The 67-year-old California woman died following a scuba diving excursion.

A 67-year-old tourist from California died following a scuba diving excursion in the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to authorities there.

Police said in a statement Tuesday that Kathleen Wright complained about breathing problems after surfacing during a scuba diving trip in St. Croix.

Wright was accompanied by her husband and a friend at the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve, police said.

Authorities said they did not have her hometown.
