3 Charged in Road Rage Beatdown Outside Holland Tunnel: Police

Police say a road rage confrontation that began in New York City ended with the arrests of three men in a traffic jam outside the Holland Tunnel in New Jersey.

Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo says the dispute began as a car and a van tried to merge into the tunnel in Manhattan on Thursday.

The vehicles emerged and got stuck in traffic in Jersey City.

Pentangelo says the driver and a passenger got out of the car and started to beat the driver of the van, who was armed with a box cutter.

The van's driver was treated for facial injuries.

All three are charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault.

Pentangelo says the van's driver and the passenger also had outstanding warrants for bail violations.
