Thieves Steal $31K Worth of Gas

Police say unknown thieves in western Pennsylvania used a county credit card to steal over $31,000 of gas.

State police say in a Wednesday release that the thefts began in April 2012 and continued through May of this year at Fayette and Greene county gas stations. Those counties are roughly 60 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Authorities say the thieves used a Fayette County credit card that was reported stolen last year but never cancelled. Police say video records show that various people used the card to purchase over 9,000 gallons of regular and diesel fuel.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is continuing.
