Streaker in Pink Tutu Crashes Olympic Speedskating Event

Professional streaker Mark Roberts had the words "Peace + Love" emblazoned on his chest

Luis Kjeld of the Netherlands may have won the gold medal in the men’s 1000m speedskating competition, but the real highlight of the event was a tutu-wearing streaker that graced the ice.

Professional streaker Mark Roberts, who has previously crashed other Olympics and sporting events around the world, dashed onto the ice after the men’s 1000km race and quickly disrobed. The pink tutu-clad streaker had the words "Peace + Love" written on his chest. He also donned a novelty underwear with a monkey emblazoned on the pouch.

Roberts began dancing around the Gangneung Oval like a figure skater, but wiped out almost immediately after he got on the rink.

According to Yahoo Sports, Roberts calls himself a "professional streaker” and has crashed at least 562 events in 22 different countries. He told Yahoo Sports in a 2017 interview that he streaks "for the thrill of it."

Roberts' "most notable streak" came during Super Bowl 38 after Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's halftime show. He snuck onto the field at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, during a stoppage in play dressed as a referee before removing his clothing and dancing an Irish Jig near the 50-yard line.

Security officials and football players gave chase and Roberts ran several yards before getting blindsided by New England Patriots linebacker Matt Chatham. He was arrested and fined for trespassing. The Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers 32-29 in that game. The stunt did not air on TV in the U.S.

The British national from Liverpool — hometown of the Beatles — has made a couple of Olympic appearances during his streaking career, including the 2006 Winter Games and the 2008 Summer Olympics. He was also the subject of a 2013 documentary "Streak! The Man Who Can’t Keep His Clothes On."
