Two Arrested in Attempted Murder of Teen Girl in Palmdale

Investigators believe the car-to-car shooting was gang related.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a teenage girl in Palmdale, police said Saturday.

The girl was hospitalized in critical condition after being injured in a car-to-car shooting in the 37800 block of Melton Avenue around noon Friday, officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

Investigators believe Palmdale residents Jaime Espinoza, 20, and Fernando Albarran, 21, were involved in the shooting, which is believed to be gang related.

A third person was detained in connection with the shooting, but released pending further investigation, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Both men remain behind bars in lieu of $500,000.
