Woman Arrested With Runaway Boy, 14, Met While Gaming

Prosecutors said a Wisconsin woman has been accused of meeting a 14-year-old Garland, Texas, boy through online gaming and having sex with him.

A federal complaint said Jennifer Lynn Dougherty transported the boy to Wisconsin to engage in sexual activity, according to a news release issued by U.S. Attorney John Parker.

The boy's parents reported him missing Sept. 12, officials said. While checking his X-Box 360, investigators discovered recent chats — which were sexual in nature — with a user that was later identified as Dougherty.

Prosecutors said Dougherty flew to Dallas Sept. 12, had sex with the boy at a hotel then flew with him to Wisconsin where they continued sexual relations.

On Sept. 16, Dallas police arrested Dougherty and recovered the boy at Dallas Love Field when the pair returned to Texas.

Dougherty remains in custody pending a detention hearing Wednesday in Dallas. Online records don't list an attorney to speak for Dougherty, whose age wasn't immediately released.

Prosecutors said Dougherty faces up to life in federal prison, a $250,000 fine and a lifetime of supervised release.
