Affordable Care Act Remains Highly Unpopular

A large percentage of Americans continue to oppose the Affordable Care Act and believe it will have detrimental results, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Of Americans polled, 44 percent called the health care law a bad idea, while 31 percent believe it's a good one. And 45 percent of poll respondents say the law will have a negative impact on the nation's health care system, compared to 23 percent who say it will have a positive effect. The poll indicated that many are either adamantly opposed to the law or confused and unsure as to what the law really entails and how it will impact them. Informing the American public will be one hurdle the Obama administration will have to face. Open enrollment under the new health care law begins on Oct. 1.
