SFPD: Street Fight, Shooting Wounds 7 in Tenderloin

Seven people were injured in a street fight that turned into a multiple shooting in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood Sunday night.

As of Monday morning, police had no suspects in custody and all the victims had been released from the hospital.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at Turk and Taylor streets at about 8:55 p.m., San Francisco Police Sgt. Danielle Newman said. There was some sort of street fight, she said, before the shots were fired. Some witnesses reported hearing as many as 18 shots.

Seven victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds, Newman said in an email at around 9:50 p.m. Hospital spokeswoman Rachel Kagen said everyone had been treated and released by Monday morning.

The majority of the wounds were to the victims' extremities, and so far, none of the injuries were considered life threatening, she said.

The intersection was shut down while police investigate the situation. Police are trying to track down witnesses who may be able to help, as well as any surveillance video that might have been working in the area.
