The infamous house where Britney's public meltdown began is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in the premier gated community of Serra Retreat in Malibu. Stephen Sommers, who directed and wrote "The Mummy" and "Van Helsing," purchased the crib from then train wreck Britney for $10 million in August 2007.

The snafus just kept piling up. She is pictured here leaving yet another custody hearing, and in the spring of 2008 she was involved in a minor traffic accident. Luckily, no one was injured. But the accident surely didn't help the pop star's pride.
