Bronx Man Arrested for Allegedly Slapping Police Horse's Rear End

A Bronx man was arrested for allegedly slapping a mounted police officer’s horse on the rear end, startling the equine and potentially endangering people outside a busy midtown precinct.

The 32-year-old man allegedly slapped the horse Tuesday night near the Midtown North Precinct at Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street in Manhattan.

Although the horse was not injured, police say it reacted by lurching forward, putting the officer and a nearby crowd in danger.

The man is charged with reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and criminal possession of a narcotic.
