A deck collapsed at a North Carolina beach house as family members gathered for a group photo, officials said, leaving at least fourteen injured including some in critical condition from a 10-foot fall, NBC News reported. Emerald Isle Police said officers responded at around 7 p.m. to reports of the collapse and multiple injuries. Officials said that at least three people were in critical condition and that at least one patient was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Wilmington, about 80 miles to the southwest. Most of the other patients were taken to a hospital in nearby Morehead City, Emerald Isle Fire Chief Bill Walker said. He told NBC News that the family was renting the house for a family reunion and some were from Virginia.
