Grigorieva: Staying With Gibson Was “A Mistake”

Following Oksana Grigorieva and Mel Gibson's courtroom showdown last week, the singer sat down with Larry King for her first interview since facing her former boyfriend.

"I started taping it around 11 o'clock because I thought I'm actually not going to live through the night," the Russian singer recounted during the "Larry King Live" interview – airing on Wednesday, November 17 – when asked about their infamous taped calls which leaked to Radar Online this past summer.

"He's going to come over and kill you?" Larry asked.

"Yes, that's what he said in those tapes. And if you heard them without interruptions… I have not edited and it's pretty frightening and it's completely unforgivable," Grigorieva continued. "I wanted my mother to be able to prove that if I'm dead that this is who did it."

The talk show legend asked why she stayed with the actor.

"That was a mistake. I stayed a little bit too long," Grigorieva explained. "I forgave him. I gave him the last chance. He asked me for the last chance. He begged. He cried. He cried on his knees. What am I supposed to do?"

The mother of Gibson's youngest daughter, Lucia, claimed the actor was not under the influence of alcohol during the taped calls.

"There was no liquor, not once. He [was] never drunk. I mean, one time he [was] drunk when he was away. That's the only time he [was] drunk. I've never ever seen him drinking," the 40-year-old told King. "That's why I keep saying on those tapes, you need medication. He does need medication for the sake of our daughter. He needs to be treated."

A rep for Gibson had no comment about Grigorieva's interview with Larry King when contacted by Access Hollywood.
