Hail, Wind and Lightning Hit The South

Some areas in the South including Alabama, Georgia and Texas were battered by a mix of wind, lightning, and baseball-sized hail Tuesday, NBC News reported. "With this weather coming on April 1, it's a reminder that we are definitely into severe whether season," Weather Channel lead meteorologist Kevin Roth said. The largest hailstones were 2.75 inches in diameter, baseball-sized chunks that pelted parts of Arkansas, said Roth. Similar weather conditions are expected for parts of the Midwest and Plains Wednesday, with a possibility of isolated tornadoes for some areas in Nebraska.
