GOP-Led House Votes to Create Special Benghazi Panel

House Republicans voted Thursday evening to establish a special select committee to investigate the 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya — a congressional move Democrats slammed as election-year posturing designed to motivate the conservative base. The resolution to create a 12-member panel, seven Republicans and five Democrats, passed the GOP-dominated House largely along party lines.
