FBI Investigates Purported ISIS Hacks of Western Sites

The FBI is investigating the hacking of several U.S. websites over the weekend by someone claiming to be affiliated with ISIS, though authorities generally said they suspected no link to the Islamist terrorist group, NBC News report. The attacks, which spread to Europe on Sunday night, were first reported as having hit a Montana credit union’s website. The Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit Union's site Saturday had a picture of the black ISIS flag and the words "hacked by ISIS, we are everywhere." Similar hacks were reported at several websites including two companies in St. Louis, MERS Goodwill and the digital agency Elasticity; Moerlein Lager House and Montgomery Inn in Cleveland and Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre in Ireland was the latest site to be defaced.
