Jackie Chan Is Not Dead

"Jackie is alive and well" is a Facebook post now "liked" by 46,000 fans of actor and director Jackie Chan.

For the better part of the last 48 hours, social media sites have been sharing the apparent death of the martial arts master.

Twitter has been buzzing with micro-reports of Chan's heart attack and subsequent passing, but the martial arts star is not dead.

It appears to be just another Twitter hoax that has crept into the trending topics.

Twitter users are now retweeting, "Jackie Chan did not die. RIP means: Really Inspiring #Person," to clear up any confusion.

An update to his Facebook page assured fans, "Jackie is fine and is busy preparing for the filming of his next movie."

Chan joins a long line of others who have had to shoot down Internet rumors that they were dead, such as Johnny Depp, Miley Cyrus, and Harrison Ford. All of which are alive.
