Jessica Simpson Says Marriage to Nick Lachey Was Her ‘Biggest Money Mistake'

Jessica Simpson did not hold back during an interview with Kelly Evans on CNBC's "Closing Bell" Thursday.

The singer turned fashion mogul made an appearance on the program to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her mega-successful clothing brand and made a shocking admission about her former marriage to Nick Lachey.

When Evans asked Simpson what she thinks have been her biggest financial mistakes thus far, the mother of two replied, "The biggest money mistakes? I don't know. For some reason I thought of my first marriage!"

Evans chimed in with, "That's actually a common answer, believe it or not."

The show host also questioned Simpson on her booming financial success and wanted to know a bit more behind the business.

"My business manager [and I have] been together for 16 years now. He's one of the first people that I met coming into New York City, and I trust him with everything. We've made really great investments, we haven't really had any mistakes," she explained.

"I'm definitely a person that is all about taking a risk and everything to me is kind of a 'why not?'. I take an opportunity by the reins and just go for it...when we started, it was only shoes and now it's grown so big. I'm just counting my blessings."

Simpson added, "I don't always know where all of my money is, but there are people that I love that know where all of my money is."

So where does Simpson see the business in 5 years? "I always say I'm ready for another billion."
