Liberian President Apologizes for Ebola Deaths

The president of Liberia apologized on Saturday for the high death toll among the country's healthcare workers fighting a deadly Ebola outbreak, which has killed nearly 1,000 people in West Africa, Reuters reported. President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf said she's setting aside $18 million to fight the disease, money that will be given to health workers to help with insurance and death benefits, and to fund more ambulances and treatment centers. The World Health Organization said that the Ebola outbreak, which is the worst in history, will likely continue spreading for months.
