Indie Love Puppy No Longer Applicable for Joseph Gordon-Levitt

If you loved the starry-eyed love-sufferer Joseph Gordon Levitt in "(500) Days of Summer," cherish the memory. Because he's not coming back any time soon.

The actor is heading into action territory in two movies, the first being "Premium Rush." This does not refer to the feeling associated with meeting the person of your dreams, but rather of illegal drugs.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie will have Gordon-Levitt as a bike messenger who picks up an envelope from Columbia University only to be chased by a dirty cop desperate to get his hands on it. The movie will be directed by David Koepp. Not much room for romance here, especially since those bike messengers get all sweaty and inhale a lot of car exhaust.

Gordon-Levitt then could move onto "Looper" a sci-fi thriller that will re-team him with "Brick" director Rian Johnson.

"Looper" is set during a future in which operatives use time-travel to assassinate criminals before they commit crimes. Gordon-Levitt will play a man sent back to kill himself.

Of course, it raises the inevitable question: could Gordon-Levitt do a time-travel movie in which he warns his "500 Days" character Tom Hansen not to get involved with Summer because she's just going to break his heart in the end? Probably not.

So we'll keep the indie-romance leading man candle burning, JGL, until you return. You are its brightest light.
