Men in Ski Masks Shoot at Police Officers in South Los Angeles

Three men in ski masks shot at police officers in South Los Angeles early Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police department said.

At least one of the gunmen fired at the officers on West Florence Avenue in the South Los Angeles Vermont-Slauson District at 5:50 a.m. No one was struck by the gunfire and officers did not return fire, police said.

At least one of the men was armed, and a perimeter was set up between Van Ness and Normandy avenues. Three people were taken into custody, but officers have yet to recover a weapon.
