Jackson Family Reacts to “Guilty” Verdict

Family matriarch Katherine Jackson was confident in the outcome of the trial

After watching jurors find Dr. Conrad Murray guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, the Jackson family quickly expressed their satisfaction with the verdict.

“Michael was looking over us,” the popstar’s sister La Toya Jackson told an Associated Press reporter while exiting the courtroom.

She then took to Twitter, exuberantly tweeting, “VICTORY!”

Brother Jermaine Jackson pumped his fist in reaction to the celebratory chants of Michael Jackson fans gathered outside the courthouse.

Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the family, was confident in the outcome of the trial, the AP reported.

“I feel better now,” she said.

However, a seemingly less assured La Toya Jackson tweeted prior to the reading of the verdict that she was “shaking uncontrollably.”

“Michael’s spirit will be with us in the courtroom and he will make sure the right verdict is made,” she tweeted soon after.

Following the 1 p.m. verdict, La Toya Jackson thanked her followers.

"Thank you EVERYONE for your love and support! It will ALWAYS be appreciated," she said.

La Toya Jackson wasn't the only family member to use Twitter to air their personal feelings, following the verdict.

Michael Jackson's nephew Taj Jackson tweeted with a hashtag, "Justice4MJ."

"Today I joined my family in court and was deeply moved by your presence. Thank you all for your continuous love, loyalty, and support," tweeted nephew Jermaine Jackson II.
